How SKM honors Selfcare

Sometimes it’s best just to disconnect and do something to help you relax. I know you all have been hearing about self-care, but how many of us actually practice this?  Self-care does not have to be anything extraordinary, it is a time that you should simply dedicate to feeding your mind, body and soul. I try to indulge in some self-care at least once a week. A typical self-care day for me is cleaning my room, followed by burning some candles, while dancing in my room with a clay mask on. Self-care does not have to be a one day “event”. Some daily self-care practices include:

  • detaching yourself from your phone during certain hours of the day (we all know how social media can take over our lives)

  • doing 30 mins of exercise

  • getting to know yourself intimately

  • Writing out your thoughts

  • Mini meditation session(s)

  • Have a good laugh

  • Create a home spa session

  • Read a good book

These are just a few of many practices you can do as a form of self care. In a world where there’s always so much chaos, taking care of yourself becomes a difficult task. I challenge you to start practicing self-care at least once a week. Stay beautiful!
